Teaching CALCULUS Conceptually (Calculus) MB-S18259

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

This session will discuss how to conceptually teach the big ideas in a high school calculus course – limits, derivatives, integrals, and their applications.  Some applications will involve technology, but the emphasis of the session is to focus on the concepts and content behind some of the processes students use and on how to build student conceptual understanding both visually and analytically.  This session is designed to support both new and experienced calculus teachers in some aspects of curriculum and methodology, and hopefully build a network of calculus teachers that will continue connections throughout the subsequent teaching year. One focal point for this session is to provide the opportunity for you to exchange ideas and information with other teaching colleagues and to become a member of an engaged learning community.  Plan to bring materials that you are willing to discuss and share with others.
